Farm life, Photography

10 on 10 – June 2016

Hiya! We’re back for a brand new month of photos in our photography circle. The photography circle (if you didn’t already know) is a fab bunch of friends in various parts of the world, that share 10 photos of what they’ve been up to for that particular month. It’s such a buzz looking at everyone’s photo’s and admiring their photography skills blossom.

I like to keep it all about the farm if I can. Being a city girl I still think it’s crazy I ended up living on a farm (Western Australia’s Wheatbelt). I never would’ve guessed it. Although my Dad came from a Dairy farm family in New Zealand so maybe living on farms is in the genes.

Farmer has finished seeding this week so we are all so excited to see him in the mornings and at dinner for a change! Yay!! I just love taking pictures of the farm this time of year! Everything is so green and pretty. Much like the traditional farms you would find in New Zealand or England. Well that’s enough chit chat from me, on with the show…

Did you see that double rainbow? That little calf is adorable hey!! Very friendly too! How cute is our big puppy Mac? I love the colours in that shot! That wraps up another month here on the farm. I wonder what next month will bring? More rain I hope 🙂 Be sure visit my friend Jen from Pierced Wonderings, to check out her gorgeous photos too. Follow the link circle round til you’re back to me. Enjoy the tour!

Love Jo xx

Now I’ve been here, how long now…8.5 years, I could never go back to the city/suburbs. I love the space. I seriously couldn’t handle living close by to people. Funny when I’ve lived in small populated dwellings in London. lol! I like to live in extremes. Long as there’s power, water, electricity and good INTERNET life is sweet 😉 It’s so picturess this time of year xx

You can see why Winter is my fave hey! Summer is so ick on the farm but I could be swayed with perhaps a pool with a cocktail in hand haha! Oh and AIR CONDITIONING!?!! I’ve been told I have to wait for the fancy induct one I’m dreaming of. But the ol water slides outside made for a cooler Summer for sure so I can wait 😉 xx

Oh how lovely! I love the blue skies and the green grass! And the rainbows! What fantastic captures! I almost posted farm pictures this month too. While we are traveling, we stopped to see my 83 year old uncle Wib & his wife, who live on the old family homestead. 180 acres that don’t look much like yours lol – rolling hills, forested patches, ponds and cows. Very peaceful.

Oh you must take photos next visit Jen! Your Uncle’s homestead sounds divine! I bet he’s a character too. It was a real stormy day I took these photos and the rain came on and off. I was surprised just how well the iPhone captured the light using no filters – just shoot and click xx

Thanks so much Shan! I think I had a lucky day with the weather. No wonder they tell bride and grooms an overcast day is best. I love how well the pics of Mac came out – crackers!!

I hope you are getting all the rain we have had in Perth. If so you should have some healthy crops!

    • Reply Jo July 25, 2016 at 9:11 pm

We’ve had some pretty good rain Anne, not as much as Perth. So send it this way by all means. I just asked Farmer if he was happy with the amount and he’s still talking about what he needs. Hehe!! I think also when it’s this super cold we have to be careful of frosts, that can wipe the crops out pretty good. The canola crops of neighbouring farms are out now, the yellow paddocks are so pretty. Thanks for stopping by lovely! I must check out your blog too xx
