Dockers Family Day Out
Photography

10 on 10 – August 2015

Another month, another chance to take a little glimpse into some everyday lives. Why not?! It’s fun having a little looksy, don’t ya reckon! It’s the 10th of the month so it’s time to share a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to.

These photos were taken last weekend when we were lucky enough to head to the footy. Farmer has been a member of the Fremantle Dockers Football Club for 15 years with a few of his buddies. I love how these dear friends (a few lucky ones were our groomsmen) catch up for a few beers and watch the footy together over the years. Years ago it was many beers,ย now with work and family commitments it’s a just a couple cheeky ones when they can. This year we’ve been lucky enough to borrow their tickets and take our boys for the first time. They love it! The first time was over whelming but now they are HUGE fans. So here’s a few candid shots of the day at Patersons Stadium in Subiaco, Perth.

Lovely day for it!

Lovely day for it! I fully recommend Pavlich up close!!

The Dockers beat the GWS Giants 84 – 63 so the boys loved singing the Freo theme song and cheering with the crowd. We later gathered at our favourite local for W-man’s Birthday dinner and especially Birthday cake!! Cannot believe my big baby is 5!! Here’s an extra photo just to add to the fun.

Bonus pic of Birthday Boy's cake, awesome way to spend a 5th Birthday!

That Crunchie Icecream cake was the bomb! So were their cocktails come to think of it! A great day out from farm life. As a little pressie for the boys (for when I go on my holiday this week) – I’ve bought them some Freo Dockers pj’s. Nice one! They’re gonna go cray cray with excitement ๐Ÿ˜‰

So now it’s time to hop on the photography loop and check out my sweet friend Jen from Love Wednesday’s photos. You can follow the photography links in each post and it will circle back to me. Too easy! Have fun exploring!

Great doco of your family day at the football! Loved it. The chips on the ground made me chuckle. I’d be spitting chips at spilling them too. Ha ha. Beautiful captures. Xoxo

Haha! Thanks Di. Yes I think there was tears and pout faces for a while there. We tried to stay away from all the junk so besides chips we all had divine cheese and crackers instead! Top family day out indeed xx

Love me a day at the footy, although I wouldn’t be cheering for the Dockers. (Sorry, not sorry!) Looking at all your pics makes me realise it’s been ages since I’ve cheered on my mighty Swans in person. Must get me some tickets! Looks like the birthday boy had a great birthday and how good is the Dockers season turning out to be? x

    • Reply Jo August 10, 2015 at 9:35 pm

It’s so much fun Sam – be right up your ally! So your a Swan’s supporter aye…. So is a good friend of mine. It’s good to have some healthy rivalry!! I wouldn’t be surprised if W-man wants to go to the footy every birthday, totally absorbed. Bout time Dockers do well, we’ve waited a looooong time!! x

Hit the nail on the head there Di – full of attitude!! W-man just idolises his Dad, they are two peas in a pod. We’re getting a bit hooked on the footy, such an awesome atmosphere!!

How nice is the grass at Subiaco oval! That is such a nice family adventure JoJo. I love the colours. You are such a nicer Mum than me…. should I be buying my fam bam gifts before I come and meet you?! JT xo

    • Reply Jo August 10, 2015 at 9:20 pm

Haha! Not at all Jen! I’m just feeling so guilty to leave them for the first time. But we’ve super cleaned all their rooms today so it’s well deserved. The grass looked pretty healthy, Perth has had loads of rain lately. Winter has really kicked in, thank goodness for our fire xx

Awesome photos Jo! My husband and I have been members of the Knights for years and I can’t wait to take the kids when I know they will sit still and make it a family affair! I must say though, we went to an AFL finals game at the MCG last year and it was awesome!!! So much better atmosphere than our little old league games!! I wouldn’t say that to the hubby but!!
PS it’s just dawned on me the big trek you will be making for PB!! My little 1 hour plane trip is nothing!!

    • Reply Jo August 10, 2015 at 9:14 pm

You went to the finals – you lucky duck! The atmosphere would be ah-mazing!! I wanted to surprize Farmer with tickets this years (being a possible WA side playing) but his Dad said no, incase of a terrorist attack. Isn’t that sad that’s a threat these days. It could be very unlikely but I guess it’s out there. But enough of that talk!! I’ll be seeing a soon. Leaving farm 6am Wednesday for the big trek over xx

Haha! Isn’t he hilarious! He refuses to get a smaller hat and it looks ridicules but he loves it. Thanks for the birthday wishes Bron xx
