10 on 10 – September 2015

I love the 10th of the month! It’s the time when me and my bloggy mates share 10 photos of what we’ve been up to, in hopes of improving our photo taking skills. Each post links to another post and another until it links back to me. It’s a whole lotta fun! You’ll notice I post this on the 9th, that’s because Perth time is a few hours behind, and when this baby is live – I’ll be fast asleep – plus I never trust my pre-booked post timer!! When it comes to taking photos I must admit I have struggled getting the perfect shot, but practice makes perfect. It also helps if you update your equipment! (insert squeal!)

I caught myself a bargain last month and bought a new Olympus PEN E-PL7 – OH.MY.WORD! It’s heavenly! I first read about this camera on Nikki’s (Styling You) post, and ever since then I’ve been saving my pennies to make the splurge. I’m yet to read the instructions because…who does that? But so far it’s been really easy to understand and I love the wifi feature that uploads pictures to my phone in seconds. Tried that today and it worked a dream.

So here’s some pictures I took having a play around. We went to a local Field Day – a very country thing to do. It was freezing!! But the kids loved it!

3 generations - off to check out the fun!

This show had the kids in stitches

Good fun had by all!

There was lots of tractors and headers for the boys to get excited by (think Tim “the toolman” Taylor grunts) but my faves were the pretty function hire tents and string lights – no surprizes! There was also wine tastings to be had but we were all pretty pooped from the icy cold wind to give it a whirl – maybe next year!

Now are you ready to follow the yellow brick road? Pop over to and visit my lovely French friend Cathy from Peregrination Gourmande and check out what’s been happening in her world. Then follow the circle til you’re back to me. Put the kettle on dux – this is gonna be a fun little adventure πŸ˜‰

Love the 3 generation photo! The boys definitely not too happy to hang out with Dooper! Looks like a great day out Jo. x

Thanks Steph! No Dooper love there, not liked the love I had for Fatcat. Was he over a East? He was on Channel 7 back in the 80s – could be a Perth thing. Great day out bumping into locals and having a yarn – very country πŸ™‚ x

Hello my camera twin! How good!!! I am loving these shots AND I LOVE field/show days! I must have been a Carni in a previous life. That sheep!! And caravans are so much fun to play in. I am guessing not to LIVE in but as a kid I would be busting to look inside caravans. That Pizza van is cute as can be too. Great post babe xoxo

Thanks lovely Jenny!! You are too kind!! How freakin delicious are these cameras!!! Hard to delete them, nearly every shot is a keeper. Haha! You as a carni, that cracks me up! There’s something so exciting about caravans, the boys went nuts when they found a caravan with bunks!! We’ll have to have a holiday in one one day, that’d be soo cool πŸ™‚ Or get a cute pizza van for a little weekend trade πŸ™‚ haha xx

That looks like such FUN! I loved the pizza van and of course, the 2 little taste testers! Great photos. Enjoy your new toy!! I just got the OMD EM 5 Mark II (I probably wrote that all wrong he he) and have a lot of learning to do moving over from my full frame Nikon. This baby is soooo cute and has so many features to play with. If only I could work them all out ha ha. Anyway, back to your pics – I really enjoyed them and loved your little from behind shot at the end. πŸ™‚

That looks so much fun! Balloon models for the win! But what no wine tasting?! Please tell me you did some later, in the comfort of your own home!

    • Reply Jo September 10, 2015 at 10:50 pm

The balloons were free?! Can you believe it?!! These 2 ladies were so clever. They made so many different characters too. Very cool. I’m sad to say no…. It was the end of the day Sam and I was too pooped for wine (with 2 whingey kids, Farmer and Father inlaw in tow)so we decided to go. I should of sneaked off to taste wine earlier. Will remember next year πŸ˜‰

Jo the day looked great. Raffy would have loved the dinosaur show and hanging with the sheep. It seems like everyone is converting over to Olympus. The Pen or the OM-D do you think?

    • Reply Jo September 10, 2015 at 10:46 pm

The dinosaur guy was a hoot Michelle. The kids hung off his every word – very entertaining! Yes I’m a true Olympus girl now. I haven’t tried the OM-D, it was a hard decision what to get for sure. I think Nikki’s write up won me over x

I’m totally hooked Ellen! Chantelle is really onto something being ambassador – they are brilliant cameras. I forgot to take a photo of the scrumptious donuts we woofed down!! Blind and you’ll miss!! x

I am terribly jealous of your new camera! I’ve had my BGC for a little over 2 years & I’m feeling the itch for a new baby. Not sure how to convince the husband I need one, though…

I love that second shot! Your boys are simply adorable! It looks like you had a great day in spite of the cold. I enjoyed taking a peek!

    • Reply Jo September 15, 2015 at 11:37 am

They started off adorable Jen. Then our 3 year old cracked it! haha! As they do! he was asleep as soon as they car started.
The new camera is divine!! I have a larger one I think I may have to sell now. I’ve fallen in love with my Olympus πŸ™‚ You’re husband wont mind….do it!!! πŸ˜‰

A new camera is so much fuuuuun! Especially when it looks so pretty too AND fits in your handbag no dramas! Cant wait to take some more for next month x

It seems still cold at your place! Why boys love tractors, cars and all that stuff? They are having so much fun with those and the mum I am is kind of bored… haha
Congrats on your Olympus dear, looking forward to see your next work with it!
    xx cathy
