AAA Meeting

AAA Meeting – It’s mine!

You know those moments when you see something that has your name on it and all you can think about is…… I need it, I want it, it’s mine!! Β Well that happened to me awhile ago and today I purchased it and not only that, I had the best service experience doing so, double win!! And it all happened thanks to the magic of Facebook and blogging. Two activities I’m rather fond of.

Online shopping - mr zimi tina dress with You Had Us at Hello

So I was reading this fab blog post by my bloggy mate Shannon from Forty Up. (She has a new website, it’s so pretty, you must check it out). She was interviewing a popular lady named Melissa, who you may know as Little Miss Bali. There’s some gorgeous pictures of Melissa’s home, cute little dog Taco, a great interview getting to know her a little more, but it was her dress, her gorgeous dress….. That had me at hello! I needed it! I just had to have it! So as soon as I read it was from Bali based label Mister Zimi, I was on the web page hunting for it a few seconds later.

restocked and ready to rock

I love that they restocked! It really pays to ask

After finding the dress online, I was heartbroken to discover my size wasn’t in stock. I emailed to see if there was any chance of another reorder of sizes etc. and sadly that was the last of that collection. Never mind, it just wasn’t meant to be (sob!) Months later Mister Zimi held a sale and the same dress appeared on the Forty Up Facebook page. It reminded me again of the dress I had fallen in love with, so hoping for a miracle I checked the available sizes and again my size was sold out. BUT!!!! The wonderful people at Mister Zimi, must of read Shan’s post and mentioned more sizes were available and to email them!!!

Before I knew it, a lovely lady named Bianca from their Melbourne store, rang me to confirm Breeanna had arranged for my size to be put aside and where would I like this fabulous dress sent to?!! We had such a good laugh on the phone I was just blown away with the awesome service. The power of Facebook has won me over again. So thanks to the wonderful ladies at Mister Zimi and thanks to Shannon and Little Miss Bali herself for the discovery of a gorgeous new dress and label to follow. Fingers crossed it fits now!! Wouldn’t that be classic after all that!!

How awesome is that! When I was sobbing very ugly sobs after my kids boarded their Tigerair flight to return to their Dad on Sunday night, a Tigerair staff member appeared at my shoulder to say to go to the window to watch them board. Which I did. She then reappeared to ask if I was okay. Another one then appeared and asked which seats they were in. It turned out she was a flight attendant on their flight. They were travelling unaccompanied, but she promised to take extra care of them (something the flight attendants don’t have to do – but both children were upset, my daughter particularly so). And she did. I think that’s awesome. The major airlines still charge a substantial extra fee for children flying unaccompanied. They firstly charge adult fares, and then they charge them for flying as ‘children’ unaccompanied, and as my kids say, they just walk them to their seats, and leave them there. Tigerair charges no such extra fee, and the kids say they received just as good service – actually better, because I was able to choose their seats, and had them seated in the second row of the aircraft and not in the back row as the other airlines do with kids flying unaccompanied. And they were able to disembark when they were ready and not wait until the end. (And note – my kids are 14 and 12 now. It would be different for young kids, but not for teens used to travelling alone). So I think that was awesome customer service and will be booking the kids on Tigerair for their next school holiday flight.

Wow Bronnie! I can well imagine you were upset! How gorgeous were the flight attendants to look after you and your kids like that. Our children are your most precious love so to go above and beyond like that is just AWESOME!! Well done Tiger Air, what impressive service indeed. Thanks for sharing Bronnie, hope you get to cuddle your kids again soon, sending you a big hug too lovely x

The Dress Gods definitely want you to own this dress!
I’d like to do a shout out to Ben and his team from Infuzions Restaurant, Cammeray.
Being the supreme procrastinators that we are, my family and I left it to the very last minute to organise somewhere for my Dad’s 60th birthday celebrations. Which would have been fine except that we were hoping to book a table for 22 people. A week before our intended date. Whoops.
Having worked in Hospitality his whole life, we wanted to treat Dad to stellar service and delicious food.
Ben went above and beyond from the outset. He tailored a menu specific to our needs and was super responsive to all our communications.
On the day, his waitstaff were just delightful. They were attentive without being overbearing. They ensured the kids on the table were happy and fed. They brought out seperate dishes for a member of our party who didn’t at seafood (which we forgot about.) They didn’t get annoyed with us when we did that big group thing of milling around and chatting instead of ordering drinks in an orderly fashion.
The lunch sessison ended and they were more than happy for us to remain in the restaurant whilst they set up around us for dinner, allowing us to catch up with everyone and continue enjoying our special day. I haven’t had service this outstanding in a very long time. It was refreshing and so appreciated.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Coming from a family of Procrastinators myself, to pull of such a successful night at the last minute without huffy staff rushing you is just amazing! All the attention to detail and making you all feel so welcome is just brilliant. I bet your Dad was thrilled with his special day, and Ben and his wonderful team made him feel very spoilt indeed. Nice one Infuzions Restaurant! Happy Belated 60th to your Dad Shannon, thanks so much for reporting such awesome service xx

It is such a rare thing to get good service these days! I never buy clothes online, I am not brave enough!

    • Reply Jo July 30, 2015 at 9:42 pm

Hey Anne, it really is magic when you find awesome service isn’t it!? Buying clothes online is a bit scary at times. I’ve returned items in the past as they are just not as they seem – so frustrating! Having said that my new dress fits perfectly and very true to size so I would hand on heart recommend buying Mister Zimi online. Mister Zimi for the win πŸ˜‰
