Farm life

Can we keep on Summer holidaying?

Hey Hey!! How you doin? Time to get back in the saddle! Slowly does it… Many of you have kids going back to school this week, we’ve got that happening on Feb 1st so still a little time to chill. I totally LOVED having two weeks off over Christmas and New Year and then some. I hope you got the chance to relax too. I finally got the chance to binge watch OITNB – wow that’s addictive!! Sadly Farmer finished harvest the week I went back to work but that’s all good. We’re just glad he’s finally finished and we get to see him more often – yay!

Hens Day shenanigans! Note a common theme – I always have drink in hand!! WTH?!! Also note the Boho theme – love it. This is me and the gorgeous Bride to be. We cannot be trusted! tehehe!!

I’m totally loving the cruisy fresh vibe the start of a new year brings. Rewind back to the lead up to Christmas and oh my word!! I thought I was going to split into two life was so busy. Making new plans, chilling by the pool with ya mates during swimming lessons, hens and buck weekend getaways, weddings… seriously, can we keep on this Summer holiday vibe? It’s so much fuuuun! It kinda freaks me out school is just 8 days away but having said that, routine in the house is a good thing. We have two full time schoolers this year – holy smokes!

I swear my boys are growing like mushrooms – they’re getting sooo tall. They wont be in the same split class this year so it’ll be interesting how well they do with different teachers and classmates. Jeez, I’ll have to be on the ball with all the class notes- eek!

Of course I, like so many others, plan on shedding the weight of a small toddler this year – quitting sugar, loving exercise all that kinda stuff. 41 now, it’s time to get my shit together. It was suppose to happen when I was 39 and 40 so this year is THE year. If only I didn’t like cheesecake and rum & cokes so much!!

I found a before and after photo from 5 years ago. In 12 weeks I lost more than 9kg – who the hell was I? Someone that stopped drinking and exercised 6 days a week – that’s who! We’ll see how it goes. Embrace your curves no matter what 🙂 I used to have so many body hang ups but my gorgeous friend Jenni – from Styling Curvy is so bloody infectious. She has created such a positive body image vibe in her blog community and she’s totally right! No one gives a shit about your so called faults, everyone is too busy minding their own shit, so why not rock what you’ve got and not spend another second worrying about it. Amen to that!

Well I’d better dash. Mum’s visiting at the moment and taken the boys to the pool. Oh and I can’t believe I missed my lovely Instagram friend @amanda_j_bayley stopping by my Visitor Centre the other day!! We were closed but I’m loving her picture 🙂  Enjoy Australia Day wherever you are. We’re having a family staycation in Perth before school goes back. Good times! Let’s hope I come home with heaps of awesome service stories. Be kind to yourself as you ease back into the grind. Catch ya next week

Jo xx

I’m not looking forward to school going back next week, I rather like the lack of routine. Although I am looking forward to hubby returning home from his latest trip to sea. It means we might finally be able to find a piece of land and start the building process.

I really love holidays, but as a work from home mum, I have a mixed relationship with them. I find it impossible to work when the kids are home, I try but nearly always end up having to wake up at the crack of dawn and work until they wake up. Fortunately they are all teenagers now, so that means working until 10am at least 🙂

Oh perfect Nicole! Yeah those teenagers sure love their sleep. My nearly 5 and 6 year old like anything from 5.30 – 7.30am so that would be no good for you. Wishing you and yours a great few weeks settling back into the swing of things xx

I wish we could stay on summer holidays forever too! It’s been so nice not having to be anywhere or do anything if we didn’t want to, not to mention spending way too much time in Mum’s pool! I must admit though the last few days I have kinda been looking forward to school & preschool starting, the girls have been fighting like cats & dogs and I realised I haven’t spent more than an hour apart from them since early December! No wonder I’m feeling ready for a break from them!

Oh the sibling fights are getting redic hey! Just about every mum is saying the same thing too. Must be ready for school time!! I love routine but I’m also loving not rushing about it in the mornings – haha! Wishing you a great week ahead – lets smash those organisation feels!! lol xx

Summer holidays are just THE BEST! Enjoy those last 8 days before school goes back. 9kg in 12 weeks is pretty impressive. I think I did something similar before my wedding on good old Tony Ferg 🙂

Love the boho theme too! I’ve actually just ordered myself a similar top online that I can’t wait to be delivered. ☺ I’m hearing ya with getting shit together. I’m hoping to lose around 15kg so for the first time I’ve decided to work with personal trainer. Hope the return to school went super well!
