Customer Service Hall of Fame – FRANKiE4 Footwear (plus a giveaway!)

Welcome to the Hall of Fame series to our AAA Meetings! It’s where we take a moment to take a closer look at favourite businesses out there that are killing it when it comes to happy customers and amazing service. Now it’s no secret I adore Australian label FRANKiE4 Footwear – I live in these babies and you’ll often see a picture of me loving them on Instagram or Facebook. I fell in love with these guys a few years ago, while swooning at fashion blogger pics. Then in December 2015 I was lucky enough to become a FRANKiE4 style influencer! Yep! Little ol me! It was game, set and match from there on! Talk about had me at hello!! Since then I’ve been banging the drum how awesome they are. Life goals for 2017 is to grow my FRANKiE4 wardrobe… check out all that love right there!! Having such a diverse range of designs means my feet are pretty much spoilt for all occassions – work, play and even fancy. All the while the design is aimed to alleviate and prevent heel and arch pain along with many other common foot complaints. I swear, if ever there’s a day I don’t wear […]

Hooray! Back to school week is here!

Aren’t you just loving all the cute photos of everyone’s school kids lately? Kids look so much younger than we ever were or have I just forgotten I was actually that little too!? Tomorrow both my little darlings start full time school – Pre-Primary and Grade 1. I honestly thought I’d be kicking my heels but I’m actually nervous and anxious they’re growing up so freakin fast! My baby is not so baby anymore. Sniff! sniff! Mummy might need a G&T later, see how we go. Normality is seeping back with all the usual crap on TV. I watched a tiny bit of MKR and ugh!! How can we possibly be up to another season??!! It’s so scripted. Guess who accepted the nasty bastard role. The whole of Australia doesn’t like this bloke now and we all know he’s going to fall on his arse when it’s his time to cook! Common TV land, give us something outstanding to watch then make it stop and have us all hanging. Or… I could just go to bed early and read a book hey. That sounds like a better idea. I think I’d lose my voice watching Married at First Sight from […]

Taking Stock – November 2016

Guess who got Adele tickets?!! SHUT UP!! I know! It’s pretty amazing really as I left it up to Farmer to get them. He’s never bought tickets like that before so there was a lot of pressure. Plus the Ticketek site crashed just an hour before. Pretty impressive Farmer – brownie points for you. We’ve just quietly told Mum we didn’t get tickets so she’ll be suitably impressed when she gets a ticket for Christmas. Hope she isn’t reading this – if you are Mum SURPRISE!! Act surprised when you get it ok! Time to take stock again, another season is near – can you believe it? Longest Winter ever?!! It’s a real shame really as the wildflowers out my way took a while to come out because of it and that’s a huge attraction for all the travellers I meet at work. Having said that those few 40C days were enough to knock us out for the count. Then it was freezing – who can keep up? No wonder we’ve all been sick – did you get sick too? Hope you missed it! Here’s my take on Pip’s Taking Stock. Join in and tell me where it’s at for […]

Gilmore who!??

Of course you know which Gilmore’s I’m talking about…and it’s not Adam Sandler. Have you been getting into the Gilmore Girls? There’s soooo much excitement about it’s return and rightly so but how in the world did I miss this show?! I’ve only ever seen half an episode a few weeks ago. I was very impressed! I messaged my buddy Veggie Mama (Gilmore Girl guru) and she confirmed 7 series worth I need to catch up on – woh! The fact that I’ve missed the boat on this one baffles me as I like to keep up to date on all cool things on the box. Let me explain. My 20 year High School Reunion an old friend said “So Jo, do you still watch heaps of TV?” which at first I was like “Who me, I don’t watch that much!” but when I thought about it, yeah I kinda do. I get on all the crazy teen band wagons. I was obsessed with 90210. I would tape it on the VCR, for you young kids that’s what we did in the 80’s, without the ads and decorate the actual tape with pictures of the Brenda, Kelly, Dylan, the whole […]

Customer Service Hall of Fame – Birdsnest

Welcome to a new series to the AAA meetings. Each month we’ll take closer look to some favourite businesses out there who are killing it when it comes to amazing customer service. I don’t know about you, but the older I get the more wiser I am with parting with money. So when I find a place that I insist takes all my money let’s celebrate, congratulate and have a chat with these gorgeous people!! Tis nearly the season to be jolly, and what does every girl need for the festive months ahead? Besides enough wine to tackle Christmas shopping lists?! A NEW OUTFIT of course! I’m spoilt to have a great clothing store in our country town but it’s always good to know there’s options, especially when you love shopping for clothes as much as I do. One store that gets a lot of my attention is Birdsnest. I’ve mentioned Birdsnest many a time on the blog as they have amazing customer service. It’s a popular ladies online fashion store that offers over 250 fashion brands and express delivery. Buying clothes online can often be a dodgy experience. What looks good in the pictures, 9/10 looks completely wrong when you try it on at home […]

Aldi is all good!!!

At last! At LAST I’ve finally shopped at an Aldi supermarket! Perth was a tad slow to the uptake on these popular German stores we kept hearing about. After reading my mate’s hillarious post on Aldi, I had a fair idea what to expect. I also started following Aldi Mum after watching her presentation at this years ProBlogger. So I’ve mentally prepared myself what to expect and why the masses either love or hate the place. Living in the country we have a local IGA which serves us well. Having said that, some days everyone wants to cook the same recipe as you do and you find yourself short! So grabbing the occasional stock up is always a good treat. In a state that’s been heavily dominated by Woolworths and Coles it’s great to have a new kid on the block. Service wise, these stores I frequent are a friendly chatty bunch. A few odd conversations about toilet paper giving piles and space love but none the less, all satisfactory. But OH.MY.WORD!!! Aldi so aesthetically pleasing to the eye as you walked in I was all take my money. Just like when you walk into Ikea. You can feel yourself rolling your […]

An etsy gem!

Are you a fan of etsy? Do you easily fall down the rabbit hole looking for gifts but end up buying yourself a little something? Who me!? But how cool are some of those finds on there? I love it. I especially love it when when you fall in love with an item, no make that the shop, then you realise, hang on a minute, I know that surname. Turns out not only did I find a fabulous new shop to call a favourite, but 10 years ago I worked with the shop owners husband at Perth Airport! Paul was so much fun to work with!! #whatarethechances #6degreesofkevinbacon #noteven #perthissosmall Meet Tracey, she’s the owner of Naughts and Crosses Boutique based in Perth, WA. I fell in love with her gorgeous collection instantly. They stand out from the usual bags with their vibrant colours and touch of boho. Not only do they make the perfect accessory with an outfit but they moonlight as an iPad case too. Tracey had dreamt of becoming a boutique owner for years. It wasn’t until her best friend moved to Thailand and introduced her to beautiful fair trade fabric, that her dream started to evolve. Tracey has […]

So much awesome service!!

Welcome to a AAA meeting!! Where the hell have we been?!! Phew!! I remember looking at the bursting calendar at the start of August and thinking HOLD ON!! Life’s crazy busy rollercoaster sure took some twists and turns and scary dips these last couple of months. To think just awhile ago I was hanging out for a challenge!? hahaha! Oh how my current self mocks my past self. Silly bugger! What I can tell you is my awesome service radar is in full gleam as it feels like it’s everywhere 🙂 Maybe it’s a state of mind, maybe I just ignore the average service but I swear I’m seeing it everywhere. After an arctic frost this past week (wasn’t it the worst?!!) the sun is suddenly shining and the good vibes are out there. There’s plenty of awesome service out there which is so good to hear. I’m so over self serve checkouts these days. I want 5 star treatment baby! So because it’s been such a long while since I’ve spotted awesome service I thought I’d break it up a bit. The first standout awesome service I’ve had lately is in accommodation. I’m always fond of accommodation, it always makes me […]

Fake it til you make it

We’ve all heard this before and ain’t it the truth! I’m not talking about being fake, I’m talking about white lies, smoke and mirrors and often using the phrase “I’m right on top of that Rose” (10 points if you can tell me the movie quote). These are all friends of mine because let’s face it, we always want to present our best foot forward. We want our work colleges, customers and even strangers to know we are in complete control and knowledge of exactly what’s going on. Friends and family will always find out the real truth so we’re not too worried about them. Let me give you a classic example of some doozies that aren’t faking it. If I talk to someone on the phone to ask a question, nothing grinds me more than the person on the other end of the phone tell me a) that’s not my job b) I’ve just come back from holidays c) I don’t know. Insert ROAR!!! No one likes a road block!! Well I’m here to help you spread the word to these responses friends. Tell them to make it up, hurry up and find out so they know for next time. Fake it til […]

Telltale signs Mum’s gone back to work

Well, well WELL!!! Welcome to this week’s AAA Meeting! I’m a month back in the workplace and what can I say?!! Man I’m pooped. On top of my wish list is perfect uninterrupted sleep… but to be honest, that wish has been there since parenthood so same same. There has been a few changes to our household. Here’s a few telltale signs my family has noticed Mum’s gone back to work!! #1 – Now more than ever I know EXACTLY what’s happening for the week ahead. When I was a stay at home Mum, days were unplanned and carefree. Now I can tell you where everyone is at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon and what’s happening that night. The sudden use in post-it notes has peaked! #2 – I now sound more like a Sergeant Major in the mornings. Getting into the car on time is a MUST or we miss the bus and I end up late for work. I maybe, sometimes, occasionally use adult words when we’re in a REAL hurry and we’re not moving too fast to encourage a sense of urgency! #3 – Meal plans and schedules are all over the fridge. We know exactly what we’re eating […]
