Customer Service Hall of Fame – FRANKiE4 Footwear (plus a giveaway!)

Welcome to the Hall of Fame series to our AAA Meetings! It’s where we take a moment to take a closer look at favourite businesses out there that are killing it when it comes to happy customers and amazing service. Now it’s no secret I adore Australian label FRANKiE4 Footwear – I live in these babies and you’ll often see a picture of me loving them on Instagram or Facebook. I fell in love with these guys a few years ago, while swooning at fashion blogger pics. Then in December 2015 I was lucky enough to become a FRANKiE4 style influencer! Yep! Little ol me! It was game, set and match from there on! Talk about had me at hello!! Since then I’ve been banging the drum how awesome they are. Life goals for 2017 is to grow my FRANKiE4 wardrobe… check out all that love right there!! Having such a diverse range of designs means my feet are pretty much spoilt for all occassions – work, play and even fancy. All the while the design is aimed to alleviate and prevent heel and arch pain along with many other common foot complaints. I swear, if ever there’s a day I don’t wear […]

Customer Service Hall of Fame – Birdsnest

Welcome to a new series to the AAA meetings. Each month we’ll take closer look to some favourite businesses out there who are killing it when it comes to amazing customer service. I don’t know about you, but the older I get the more wiser I am with parting with money. So when I find a place that I insist takes all my money let’s celebrate, congratulate and have a chat with these gorgeous people!! Tis nearly the season to be jolly, and what does every girl need for the festive months ahead? Besides enough wine to tackle Christmas shopping lists?! A NEW OUTFIT of course! I’m spoilt to have a great clothing store in our country town but it’s always good to know there’s options, especially when you love shopping for clothes as much as I do. One store that gets a lot of my attention is Birdsnest. I’ve mentioned Birdsnest many a time on the blog as they have amazing customer service. It’s a popular ladies online fashion store that offers over 250 fashion brands and express delivery. Buying clothes online can often be a dodgy experience. What looks good in the pictures, 9/10 looks completely wrong when you try it on at home […]

An etsy gem!

Are you a fan of etsy? Do you easily fall down the rabbit hole looking for gifts but end up buying yourself a little something? Who me!? But how cool are some of those finds on there? I love it. I especially love it when when you fall in love with an item, no make that the shop, then you realise, hang on a minute, I know that surname. Turns out not only did I find a fabulous new shop to call a favourite, but 10 years ago I worked with the shop owners husband at Perth Airport! Paul was so much fun to work with!! #whatarethechances #6degreesofkevinbacon #noteven #perthissosmall Meet Tracey, she’s the owner of Naughts and Crosses Boutique based in Perth, WA. I fell in love with her gorgeous collection instantly. They stand out from the usual bags with their vibrant colours and touch of boho. Not only do they make the perfect accessory with an outfit but they moonlight as an iPad case too. Tracey had dreamt of becoming a boutique owner for years. It wasn’t until her best friend moved to Thailand and introduced her to beautiful fair trade fabric, that her dream started to evolve. Tracey has […]

How Pixar nailed Finding Dory!

Just over a week ago we were super lucky to attend Perth’s first screening of Finding Dory. The build up to this well loved story has taken years!!! Did you know that Finding Nemo was released it 2003!?! That was so long ago! I was running amok in London in 2003, what were you doing? Ellen would always drop big hints on her show there needs to be another movie about Dory, and I recall watching her announce the movie deal had been confirmed a few years ago. 2016 seemed years away til we could enjoy watching our favourite Pixar sea friends again but here we are. FINALLY! Such a build up mind you, always has me a little anxious. Maybe it won’t be as good as the original? Maybe they’ll change the old characters with new voices, maybe it’s so much about Dory we wont see our little mate Nemo – well IT WAS BRILLIANT!! It was perfect in every way! And here’s how Pixar nailed… THEY KEPT THE SAME CHARACTERS Nothing kills a sequel like changing the original. Think Grease 2! Pixar knows kids (and parents) have watched these movies many many MANY times so we know these voices […]

Grow Just One Thing – A Book Review

This book came into my life just at the perfect time as we’re finally ready start a veggie garden. I’ve always romanced about entertaining with fancy meals paddock to the plate. We’ve got the meat covered so why not from the veggie garden too. I’m not much of a gardener per se so the title had me at hello for sure! Farmer’s nickname for me is Round Up Fingers, real nice! I’m the first to admit I’m no natural but I’m willing to give it a crack. I love wandering around nurseries and watching Better Homes & Gardens for ideas – that’s gotta mean something right? You may know lovely Kyrstie from her blog A Fresh Legacy. She creatively inspires us to get the family involved growing a kitchen garden, and enjoying them in everyday healthy meals. Her pictures and recipes are so drool worthy, you’ll be wondering when your veggie patch is going to get started too! My boys have made a notable liking to broccoli since growing it at school and later making and eating broccoli pasta. So when I suggested we make a veggie garden of our own, they were thrilled! Best way to get kids to […]

My interview with Cookie Monster

Blogging without a doubt has landed me some very cool pinch me moments and this sure is one of them!! It was an absolute treat to chat to a well loved household known character from not only my childhood years but from my own kids too. Funny enough before the phone interview I had to check if I was talking to THE very Cookie Monster – not just the man behind the lovable character and I was assured 100% OF COURSE!! LOL! I think that’s when I started to blush and the interview kicked off from there…. —————————————————— The 46th season of Sesame Street with Cookie Monster, Elmo and the entire gang premiers on April 3rd with The Cookie Thief special, followed by new episodes every weekday morning on ABC KIDS at 9am and 12 noon.   —————————————————— Insert swoon and crazy dance! What a sweetheart!! Be sure not to miss the season premier this Sunday, APRIL 3rd at 5PM to see the gang along with some of Cookie Monster’s favourite choc chip cookies. I discovered this recipe recently and they are #nomnomnom! I even had one just before I had my little chat with Cookie Monster. Now I can’t help but […]

Did you know Cinderella had size 11 shoes?!!

You had me at gifted FRANKiE4’s There’s something about a girl’s love of shoes! Don’t ya think!? No matter how many we have there is always plenty of reasons and perfect excuses for more. I’m not too sure what size feet Cinderella’s feet were exactly but don’t you think everyone deserves that Cinderella moment!? I’m not talking about sneaking out to a ball to dance with a hot Batchy kind of Prince, I’m talking about the glass slipper moment! The moment when you fit on a pair of shoes and you cry happy tears from all the PRETTY and all the COMFORT and all the JOY!!! And you know something… I discovered a collection of beauties that caters for ALL THE SIZES!! Even size 11!! 12 and 13 too. I kid you not!! I’m not sure if you’re aware but being a size 11 kinda girl makes shopping for shoes quite heartbreaking really, as so often shoe designs don’t cater for sizes past size 10. And if they do, it’s never the pretty one’s you admire in a shop window. It’s a select few that spark no excitement at all. When there’s a shoe sale on, us size 11 girls feel all the excitement […]

Bloggy Birthday Giveaway!

Oh my word! I’m finally back to the land of Blog! Oh how I missed you!! So much celebrating has been done and the party (aka The Festival of Jo) continues with my 40th just around the corner. I’ve drank my weight in booze and then some, proving that life is just too darn fun to be busy achieving weight goals at the moment. I’ll start that up next year I promise!! Home makeovers are happening, we’ve been and come back from Bali – loved it, we’ve got a new kitten, we’ve had lots of farm visitors stay and I’ve even jumped on the Jamberry Nails train – finally after many years of trying – I’m growing my nails. My Grandpa George would be so proud 🙂 Only took me how long?! So I’ve got a few cool things happening behind the scenes I’m busting to tell you. I might try a few different angles in the upcoming year. We’ll just mix it all up and see how we go. But first I need your help! I created a mini survey to find out a little bit about you and what you like. It’s the first time I’ve done a […]

Meet our Farm Fur Babies

I went to a very hip and happening Vegan cafe recenty and thought it was uber cool they had photos of local dogs on the wall. They were all gorgeous and just full of character – aren’t all dogs?! Which made me realise I’m yet to introduce you to our Farm Fur babies. So before we surprise the kids with a little puppy and a kitten this Christmas (that’ll be a great excuse for no toys this year!!), I thought I’d introduce you to our working Farm Fur Babies. These guys live with my inlaws, next door. Getting them in the mood for a nice photo is just as easy as getting a photo of the kids!?! It took a few days of chasing but I finally got em! They all have such big personalities, so without further ado, here they are… THIS IS A SPONSORED POST FOR FRONTLINE.  This old man is Ted. Teddy!! Poor ol Ted is getting a bit old and worn out these days. He’s 10 and a half year old and the oldest dog on the farm. I met Ted as a pup when I first came to the farm. It was a spritely young thing […]

Housework blues solved!

Do you get the housework blues? Why is it that laundry seems to never smile back at us? It just keeps on growing! Have you ever noticed as soon as you mop the floors or clean the windows the kids or family pets are attracted to it like an unforgiving magnet with all their all their sticky mess! Ugh!! Just the other day our neighbour came to visit. We had a chat over the fence while I was hanging out with the kids outside. I told him in advance there was no chance I was inviting him inside for a cuppa – the house was the usual midweek unorganised chaos and I was too proud to let him see it. That’s totally crazy but it’s a true story! Housework is such a drag and so repetitive some most EVERY DAY. So when I was recently contacted by a new cleaning company called HomeHello they certainly had me at hello as to what they’re all about. THIS IS A SPONSORED POST FOR HOMEHELLO Reliable, affordable and convenient! Keep talking! HomeHello aims to bring happiness and smiles to all homes across Australia. Sounds wonderful! At the moment this new cleaning service is available in Sydney […]
