Photo time! And boy so I have some beauties!! Time got away from me last month so I might just have to break the rules and give you more that ten photos to be fair!! But how do I choose from 2 holidays AND a visit from our lovely Clever Cookie French friend Cathy!! After more than a year of oogling over her photos and being a neighbour in our photography circle, Cathy came to visit our small country town!! I’m sure she thinks we’re crazy and kooky but god we loved having her and I miss her so. What I can say is a lot of merry drinking and eating was done throughout this joyous time. Hangovers I can confirm take a good week to get over if you have to head back to work. And isn’t it funny/not funny how we try for weeks for shed a few kilos yet like Hansel and Gretel, a few crumbs later and they find their way back home! #homebeingbutt #bigbuttforthewin And here’s a flipogram with a few extra photos!! https://flipagram.com/f/xBWzI0ydaB Haha!! That was fun! No wonder I’ve been so pooped huh? And I came home from Problogger to killer coughs, flu and […]

Welcome to another month of sharing of our favourite photos for the month 🙂 Now I’m back working 5 days a week I can officially confirm I’m turning into one of those crazy loopy Mums that swing from totally military organised to complete chaotic shambles. Will man shared his 6th Birthday party with a friend in his class a few Saturdays ago. I had visions of stylie photos of delicious party food and getting a little food bloggy for you all…but alas! Ain’t nobody got time for that! I was running my ass off getting the place super dooper tidy and ready for the party. I’m surprised myself I got it all done!! Once the guests arrived I was quite the waitress getting drink orders and serving food that I just didn’t have enough arms to get those close up pictures done. But all the food was gobbled up so that must be a food sign hey? The fruit kebabs were a clear favourite for all. The party theme was Finding Dory. We had some great Dory decorations on the ends of the balloons, the place looked great. Some of these photos were taken by my gem of a friend Gem. […]

It’s that time again, when me and some lovable buds share 10 photos of the month in our neck of the woods. I’d love to share some more photos of the farm with you but IT’S TOO BLOODY FREEZING outside!! I swear those icy winds are fresh from Antarctica, or something like that. So I thought I’d show you some pics I took when I was in my training week at work. This is as close to a museum our small town has and I was absolutely blown away. Better still, I now know enough to take people on tours too. So come along with me for a little history lesson in Lake Grace, Western Australia… It was a shady day when I went for the tour so a photo of the pamphlet is where it’s at 😉 Isn’t she a beauty! It would make the prettiest house. But on with the tour. So the Australian Inland Mission hospital was known as “the bush department”. A reverend named John Flynn was rather concerned by the vast distances, lack of medical facilities and the lonely bush graves of the Australian Outback. His mission was to see hospital and nursing facilities were provided […]

Hiya! We’re back for a brand new month of photos in our photography circle. The photography circle (if you didn’t already know) is a fab bunch of friends in various parts of the world, that share 10 photos of what they’ve been up to for that particular month. It’s such a buzz looking at everyone’s photo’s and admiring their photography skills blossom. I like to keep it all about the farm if I can. Being a city girl I still think it’s crazy I ended up living on a farm (Western Australia’s Wheatbelt). I never would’ve guessed it. Although my Dad came from a Dairy farm family in New Zealand so maybe living on farms is in the genes. Farmer has finished seeding this week so we are all so excited to see him in the mornings and at dinner for a change! Yay!! I just love taking pictures of the farm this time of year! Everything is so green and pretty. Much like the traditional farms you would find in New Zealand or England. Well that’s enough chit chat from me, on with the show… Did you see that double rainbow? That little calf is adorable hey!! Very friendly too! How […]

I’m back! I can’t believe I missed two rounds of our uber cool photography circle but life and shitty internet happens! I also can’t believe last time I was taking photos we were playing under the sprinkler – now we’re freezing our butts off huddling next to the fire. I love that Australia gives us a taste of each season. So this month we got around to starting our first little veggie garden thanks to the help of my friend Kyrstie Barcak. She recently wrote her first book Grow just one thing and ever since then, me and the kids have been busting to get started. I reviewed her awesome book here. It’s well worth the read, it gets you itching to grow something AT ONCE! I’m very new to gardening at the ripe old age of 40. We have lawn that’s still very alive, and a few large succulents I’ve not killed but that’s about it I’m afraid. Once Farmer has finished seeding we have big plans to spend some time in the garden and spruce the place up from looking like a house on a sand pad. Look out Summer I say! So til then here’s a look […]

Welcome back to our Photography Circle!! In case your new to all this, this is a little project a group of my lovely bloggy mates and I get up to each month on the 10th! We take 10 photos within that month to tell a little story of what we’ve been up to, then link up to each other til it gets back to our original post. Best of all, it gives us the chance to practise our photography skills 🙂 I’ve nearly cracked 12 months of the joining in each month, which is a huge effort for me. Let’s hope when I look back I’ve improved a little. Haha! Fingers crossed! I’m currently sitting in a pool of sweat as WA is having quite the heat wave! 41 today and for the next few days. We don’t have air conditioning in our house as yet as I’m hoping for the fancy pants ducted one, one day so til we can afford that luxury a good run under the sprinklers is what we love best. My boys seem to love running around in their undies yelling “Captain Underpants!!” with our cat Molly joining in all the fun. I couldn’t get […]

Happy New Year!!! Hello for 2016 and the land of relaxing January!!! We’re in a pool of sweat of course but that’s how we roll in the Aussie Summer. We just had a thunderstorm and the cool rain was so divine – I was tempted to find my old Belinda Carlisle CD and crank up her Summer Rain number… but I opted for a wine instead! #irandomlywonthatcdinthe80s #cd???bahahahahaha Hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas break and loving the school holidays. We were straight into swimming lessons just after Christmas so it’s been go go go! I promised my boys a special treat – something I’ve saved for a while now. Fat Mum Slim’s Fun Kits 1 and 2!! Santa gave the boys cameras for Christmas so it’s been fun watching them discover the joy of photography. I know their Great Grandpa George (from above) would be bursting with pride watching them too 😉 So our photo’s this month are all about those AMAZING fun kits. We all had such a great laugh creating together which was a refreshing change from watching dvds and building lego. I’ve a feeling we’ll be creating some more little props in the future. It […]

Welcome to the last 10 on 10 Photography Circle for 2015. How’s your December truckin’ along? Busy busy busy hey?! I hear ya! But soon it will be holidays and routines go out the window and we can relaaaaaaax! Yay! I’m really looking forward to spending time with my boys. Big one too when harvest is finished. About 3 weeks ago I managed to go on a lunch date with my cheeky 5 year old Will. We were lucky enough to be invited to the Olympus Photography Workshop with Fat Mum Slim and Sesame Ellis at The Shorehouse over looking Swanbourne Beach in WA. Lovely location!! It was soooooo freakishly hot but it was so much fun meeting new friends and discovering Will loves taking photos as much as I do, over 200 for his first effort! I think Santa will catch onto this great new hobby he’s discovered. Exciting! So here’s some photo’s taken by my guest photographer Will 🙂 And seeing as it’s Christmas, here’s a few more!! It was such an awesome day! It made me realise I need to go on dates with my boys more often and to keep on encouraging Will to enjoy photography. […]

Well here we are! Novemeber and as promised I have a few pics to share from the Festival of Jo! It’s been a solid 3 weeks of celebrating my 40th and I am ABSOLUTELY exhausted! It’s all caught up with me and I seriously feel I could sleep for a week just to catch up again, it’s been the best time 🙂 I’m in my pj’s, eyes are very sleepy but I must press on with some sneaky peaks and you can see why it’s been so quiet on the blog of late! The celebrations kicked off with a family trip to Bali. I had never been and expected all the bad Bali stories to be true, but it was above and beyond everything I had ever imagined! The first day my face ached from smiling and loving it so much! All I could think of was why the hell hadn’t I been here before?!! I shall venture into the trip a little more with another post soon, but he’s a sneak peak what we got up to! So there you have it! I threw in an extra photo so bonus. That’s what I’ve been up to off late, so would you […]

Hiya! We’re back for another month of happy snaps! There’s been a lot of excitement here in Lake Grace these last few weeks. It turns out the Brownlow Medalist for 2015 was Fremantle Dockers player Nat Fyfe!! The boy from Lake Grace has soon become a local legend. My boys were tickled pink we had the chance to go meet him. W-man even drew him two pictures to give to him. I’m kicking myself I didn’t take a picture of them. They were so cute! So here’s a collection of photos of the big event, when he arrived home for the first time after the big win, by helicopter! Doesn’t happen every day for this little town!! And there you have it! A little snap shot into where we live. Now don’t forget to follow the photo circle loop and check out Veronica’s awesome photos here. Follow the links til you’re back to me. Enjoy the month ahead, I’m predicting next month we’ll have photo’s from the Festival of Jo – aka our family trip to Bali, Backyard Blitz, Lounge room make over and my 40th! Woooohoooooo! What a busy month!! Catch ya then then 🙂
