AAA Meeting, Everything else

Gilmore who!??

Of course you know which Gilmore’s I’m talking about…and it’s not Adam Sandler. Have you been getting into the Gilmore Girls? There’s soooo much excitement about it’s return and rightly so but how in the world did I miss this show?! I’ve only ever seen half an episode a few weeks ago. I was very impressed! I messaged my buddy Veggie Mama (Gilmore Girl guru) and she confirmed 7 series worth I need to catch up on – woh! The fact that I’ve missed the boat on this one baffles me as I like to keep up to date on all cool things on the box. Let me explain.

My 20 year High School Reunion an old friend said “So Jo, do you still watch heaps of TV?” which at first I was like “Who me, I don’t watch that much!” but when I thought about it, yeah I kinda do. I get on all the crazy teen band wagons. I was obsessed with 90210. I would tape it on the VCR, for you young kids that’s what we did in the 80’s, without the ads and decorate the actual tape with pictures of the Brenda, Kelly, Dylan, the whole gang. Did I mention I’ve met Luke Perry before? – that’s another story. Yes it’s a tad #sad but this was my world before boys so bear with me! Then there was Melrose, Secret Life of us, Felicity – oh man that one dragged on and even then she picked the wrong guy dammit!! Oh and Dawson’s Creek.

I fell in love with Six Feet Under, which lead me to Parenthood so how is it possible loving Lorelai with all my teen TV loving background and I missed the Gilmore Girls? I’ve dropped the ball here. Maybe I was busy watching Anne of Green Gables! Haha! Or daydreaming of my current crush at the time. Have you ever bumped into your high school crush later in life and think WHAAAAAAAAAT!?? Hmmmm! It’s safe to say I’m grateful I didn’t marry a high school sweetheart but who am I kidding – I don’t think I hardly spoke to a boy in high school – way too shy for that! lol!

So for those of you enjoying Netflix – I still don’t have it. My country data range would chew that up way too nicely!! – let me know if it’s good. I have no freakin idea how I’ll find time to fit this new series in but I’m keen and I’m devoted! My Mum started watching the Breaking Bad series lately – hooly dooly! She has no idea what she’s in for. I should film her response hey? lol!

You’re a 90s TV girl after my own heart Jo! I”d add Northern Exposure to that list too πŸ™‚ Like you though, I never got into Gilmore Girls but after seeing ads for the new 4 episode series, feel like I may have missed something?!

Oh I used to love that too. Rather quirky from memory! I know, like how did we miss this show that is suddenly so huge? Are we too old? too young? It looks like the sort of thing we’d watch. Is this fast talking pre Dawson Leary days? lol! xx

Phew! I thought I was the only one who had never seen the Gilmore Girls. I love me some Netflix so I think I have some televisual catching up to do. Secret Life of Us was a cracker – I still love listening to the soundtracks. Pure gold!

Oh how good was Secret Life of us! I seriously wanted to live in St Kilda in that cool flat and party on the roof! The Alex and Evan story line went a bit pair shaped but good god did I love it. My favourite character was Will. Good name for a boy hey…lol! Soundtrack was sooo good. We need to find us a rooftop and party like these cool peeps Sam xx

Loved the Gilmore Girls and watched all 7series…I remember flicking on an episode each time I breastfeed my first born (now ten year old) at night, and repeating it again 6 yrs later with my last born…totally addictive series!

    • Reply Jo November 24, 2016 at 1:04 pm

Oh so that’s why I missed the wagon – 10 years ahgo I was travelling. Didn’t watch much TV in those days. I can well imagine how addictive it is – eek! But a good addiction πŸ™‚ xx

I’ve only watched it a little bit. I never got hooked though! Ha! My friends would tell you that I watch a lot of TV too! Always have! We would’ve been great buddies in high school!! ☺️Xx

I got hooked in my younger teen years, however I watched it with a friend who always skipped ahead without me. I feel like I need to rewatch the entire series to make sure I haven’t missed too much before seeing the movie! I’m still really excited for it though!

Oh you sound like my husband watching Breaking Bad! He would miss a few episodes and I’d be busting to watch the next episode but he insisted I wait – complete torture!! haha! Hope you enjoy it Kez, it looks so good xx

  • Reply Em @ The Illusive Femme November 23, 2016 at 9:11 pm

I never got onto the GG bandwagon but I know I’ll cave and watch it. My sister and I binged the entire series once it ended and was on box set – I loved Loreli but Rory irked me – hopefully she’s relaxed a little (probably not possible)! Haha!

    • Reply Jo November 24, 2016 at 1:50 pm

Yeah! I’m with you on this one. She’s a little intense. You feel like you want to give her a few drinks just to chill a little!lol! You’ll be sucked in for sure – enjoy!! xx

I am with you. I’ve hardly watched an episode and I feel like I am completely out of the loop. Once I finally finish OITNB on Netflix I think I am going to have to start back at the begining and see what the fuss is about.

    • Reply Jo November 25, 2016 at 1:10 pm

Oh I have OISTB on dvd I gotta watch so things are starting to back up. No time for TV at the moment, although seeing it’s harvest and my nights are free you’d think so. I usually doze off once the kids are in bed – haha! #tiredmama #mustbegettingold xx

I sort of missed Gilmore Girls too – but know heaps of people with awesome taste that love it. I might have to jump on the bandwagon.

    • Reply Jo November 25, 2016 at 1:08 pm

DO IT Robyna! I’m gonna have to watch the old series first though, so I know what everyone is talking about it! lol! xx

  • Reply Rachel November 27, 2016 at 7:13 pm

I only watched the old series every now and then, it wasn’t something I was drawn to. And from what I’ve read of the reunion series, I’m not missing much by not watching it!!!
    Visiting from #teamIBOT today xx

Oh I know!! Not many good reports huh! I guess that’s the scary risk at coming back. Offspring was ok – bit liking watching Pet Cemetary though with new writers πŸ™ Hopefully both series pick up. Thank GAWD Breaking Bad never came back – as mush as I FREAKIN LOVED IT!!! xx
